Giving a loan to a poor person is one of the mitzvos commanded in this week’s Torah portion. We know that every mitzvah Hashem commands us, He does himself. How does Hashem fulfill this mitzvah? A loan is money that a person gives to his friend even if his friend doesn’t deserve it, and the loaner wont receive benefit from it. The money is given with the understanding that it must eventually be returned. Our many talents and capabilities that Hashem has blessed us with to overcome challenges and succeed is His loan to us. By using our talents and personality to serve Him through fulfilling Torah and mitzvos, it is considered as repaying the loan. |
This is great!
