What you need:
1 yard of a knit fabric
2 yards of elastic
1.) Cut two 18 inch by 36 inch rectangles so that it stretches across the 18 inches.
2.) Fold each rectangle in half, lengthwise, right sides and raw edges together, so that you have two 9 inch by 36 inch rectangles.
3.) Pin and then sew along the long side of each side.
4.) Sew a second seam along the same side or serge it.
5.) Fold over 1/4 inch and then 1 inch on the top and bottom of each leg warmer, sew leaving a 1 inch space to thread through the elastic.
6.) Measure the widest part of your leg, subract 1 inch and cut two pieces of elastic.
7.) Measure the area around your ankle, subtract an inch and cut two pieces of elastic.
8.) Thread one of the longer elastic at the top of one of the leg warmers. Sew the ends of the elastic together, then sew the opening.
9.) Repeat step 8 on the first leg warmer but with the smaller elastic at the other end.
10.) Sew up each of the openings on the elastic casing.
11.) Repeat steps 8,9, and 10 on the second leg warmer.
Cool! I think this is just what I need this year. :)
