A little girl
Lying in bed
Dreaming about how they would have been
Life in the orphanage is so dreary

Annual picnic, oh, what a treat!
So many new friends to meet
One girl standing on the side
Modest clothing catches my eye

“My name is Sara,” she says with a smile
Then we talk for a while
About so many things, but one intrigues
“Tell me about lighting candles, please”

It’s been twenty years since that day
I’m a frum (observant) woman now
Vanquishing darkness every day
Thank you, Sara, for showing me the way
