Enter our Torah Art Contest!

Here’s how it works! Choose one pasuk (verse) from Tanach* and illustrate what it means to you. Make sure to include the pasuk, either in English or Hebrew in your artwork.We’ll accept all types of artwork so be creative: drawing, painting, collage, photography, sculpture, and more!

*There are 24 books of Tanach which include Torah (Bible), Nevi’im (Prophets), and Kesuvim (Scriptures).

Eligibility: This contest is open to Jewish girls ages 8-15.

Prizes: First Prize: A beautiful three volume Stone Edition Tanach
Second Prize: A painting by Sheva Chaya Shaiman. Check out some samples at www.shevachaya.com!
Third Prize: An assortment of art supplies from Fantasia Pencil

Deadline: Entries must be received by June 30th, 2008.Winners will be published in the Fall 2007 issue.

Judging: Entries will be judged by Sheva Chaya Shaiman. Sheva Chaya grew up in Denver, Colorado where wide open skies and the majestic Rocky Mountains inspired her to begin her career as an art- ist. She studied at Princeton University, majoring in visual art and art history, with a concentration in painting. After graduating from Princeton in 1997, Sheva Chaya immigrated to Israel. There, the land, the people, and a rich tradition of spiritual teachings brought a new, deeper dimension to her work. Sheva Chaya now loves living in the Old City of Tzfat, Israel, with her husband and four children.

We will make every effort to return artwork ONLY if you include a self addressed, stamped envelope (with the right amount of stamps), but we do not take responsibility for lost or damaged entries.
