Buttons are good for many reasons.
Did you know that they are not just used for closing clothes or fastening things, but they are also used for decoration?!
There are so many different kinds of buttons that one could make books just about buttons. There are little buttons, big buttons, two holed buttons, four hold buttons, shanked buttons, the list goes on and on.
So, why do we use different buttons?
Two holed buttons are typically used for girls’ clothes while four holed buttons are used for boys’ clothes. Just like you want to make sure to use buttons that aren’t too small, you want to make sure to not use buttons that aren’t too big. You need to make sure to make button holes that are the right size for the buttons. Shank buttons get sewn on through the back of the button and are most often decorative.
