Ben Bag Bag would say: Delve and delve into it, for all is in it; see with it; grow old and worn in it; do not budge from it, for there is nothing better.  (Pirkei Avos 5:26)

Such was said about the Torah. There is so much that can be learned from the Tanach and contrary to the title of this feature – facts of the Tanach are not trivial!

In this series we will learn  various facts about people, places, and events from the Tanach. In each post I will ask a  questions,  the answer being the next topic. Some of the  answers you may know, others you won’t.

A recent addition to my curriculum at school was Yedia Klallis (Jewish General  Knowledge). When learning it I realized that although I had heard about some of the people in the Tanach before, somehow I had forgotten a lot of things! It’s always a good idea to review!

This weeks question:

Which person in Tanach is Ruth’s ancestor? Who killed him and how?
