“In love and favor You have given us Your holy Shabbat as an inheritance.
Praise to You, G-d, who sanctifies Shabbat”.

My nose recognizes the sweet, familiar smell of Manischevitz wine

My lips recite the blessing, Hamoitzee, I know by heart

My candles glow beside the warm Challah, it’s time to dine.

Shabbat Shalom!

“Blessed are You, LORD our G-d, King of the universe, Who distinguishes between the sacred and the secular, between light and dark, between Israel and the nations, between the seventh day and the six days of labor. Blessed are You, LORD, Who distinguishes between the sacred and the secular.”

When Shabbat is over, we return to the mundane
We leave in our family car
We check our smartphones
We watch the Red Sox baseball players run far

We look forward to the holiness of Shabbat again!

Shavuah Tov! Have a Good Week!
