Meet the garden!
Hi! This is my blog about gardening and animals. Right now, all we have is a garden, but look for updates about fish, and eventually a cow and a mini horse. I am definitely not an expert on any of these things, so expect lots of learning experiences!
Spring is here! Everything is growing, and so is my garden. Really, we haven’t actually planted anything outside yet, except in some small planters, but we have lots of sprouts inside.

**We planted lettuce there but nothing happened. Now it has cucumber seeds.

These are some of the plants we have moved outdoors.
They live under a grow light on a timer. It turns off at midnight and on again in the morning.
Soon they will be planted in raised beds in this garden area.
We need to build the raised beds soon or our plants will end up being too big for their pots and die. A possibility is that we could plant some of the kale indoors and eat “baby kale” instead of larger leaves from outdoors, though this will probably not happen. (Note: We had to cut some of the plants to allow the stronger ones space, since we planted more than one seed per “pot”. We did eat those. J)
Next time: Fish!

I happen to really love kale – gardening sounds like so much fun! And I can’t wait to see the fish. :)
I love every one of those things you planted – yes, even broccoli! :) My family is just getting our garden started for the year.
Can’t wait for more blogs!
A cow and a horse? Cool
I am happy to report that the kale is doing well, and I think it will taste good! I hope to post about the fish as soon as possible. I wonder if they allow me to post more than once a week?
I like broccoli too. Is it really that rare to have a taste for broccoli? :) Good luck with your and your family’s garden!
I also can’t wait for some larger animals- and all the fresh milk- though it’ll probably be awhile. We don’t even have a barn yet!
The mother of one of my friends puts kale in her lasagna – it’s delicious!
It looks like they’re only allowing one post a week so far. I think that’s all we can do. But look at what a big hit our blogs have become – I know I’d be super-overwhelmed if I responded to comments on more than one page at a time! (Don’t let that stop anyone from commenting, though – I love reading ’em!)
I do enjoy broccoli and cheese in quiche. I doubt it’s rare, but from my perspective, I used to be very picky and I imagine I was being a horrible influence on other kids!
I actually know someone who has a mini-horse! The horse’s name is Fiona, and she’s 18, which is apparently pretty old for a horse. But we teenagers got along super-well (but maybe that was because I had a carrot in my pocket most of the time :D )!
rlly? we cant post more than once a wk? so thats why my posts arent getting approved!
Yes, to keep a variety of different posts on the site each blogger has one day a week that their posts get put up (sometimes it’s within a day or two).
at least now i know that posts will be put up while i’m in camp! :)
