In Shifra’s hands was a small heavy little square piece of metal decorated with three round buttons in three different colors- purple, orange and blue.

Shifra looked at Janet, puzzled.

“This doesn’t really have a name,” Janet said, “I like to call it my travel buddy.”

“You take it with you when you travel?” Shifra wanted to know.

“Not exactly… sort of. Any time you feel really sad or lonely, all you do is press on of the colorful buttons.”

“And then what happens?” Shifra asked curiously.

“You’ll see,” Janet said mysteriously, and winked. “You can return it to me next week when I come.”

As much as Shifra cajoled, Janet wouldn’t reveal any more information. “You’ll see,” was all she said.
