To make a back to school pencil pouch you will need:

1/4 yard woven fabric or fabric scraps

12 inches of velcro

thread to match fabric

pins

ruler or seam gage

To make:

1.) Cut two 15 inch by 10 inch rectangles.

2.) On the long top of each rectangle fold over one inch and then one inch again and pin down.

3.) Then you center and pin the velcro to the folded part of each rectangle.

4.) Sew right in the middle of the velcro

5.) Pin the rectangles, right sides together.

6.) Finally, sew the three remaining sides of the perimeter with a 5/8 inch seam. (If you have a serger you can serge the seams).

Now you are ready to turn it right side out and enjoy.

This will fit a 12 inch ruler and all of  your pens and pencils for school. You can also make it smaller and use it as a cosmetic case.
