As the flame touches the wick and emerges so bright,

The room is enveloped in the Shabbos candle light.

As she covers her eyes and says a Brocha to Hashem,

The Shabbos aroma envelops them.

The beautiful flame makes so bright

This dark, long and confusing Golus night.

This small flickering flame brings hope to us that the Geula will come,

And brings good, peace and serenity for everyone.

That little Shabbos flame brings so much light,

And chases away this Golus night.

Next Friday, 18 minutes before twilight,

The Shabbos candles let’s light,

So they’ll help to bring an end to this Golus night.
