Yaldah in Hebrew means “girl”. Yaldah also just happens to be the website that I’m currently blogging on :) I thought that title had a lot to do with the following pictures. Today was sweaty 70 degree weather! The weather had a really nice effect for these pictures, and they came out just as nice as the weather :) My sister, Michla, was in a silly mood and laughed the photo shoot straight. I dressed her up for the shoot: Her dress, a Tznius (modest) shirt, a pink cardigan from Osh Kosh, a slightly messy bun, and a big pink bow.
Tznius (modesty) doesn’t have to be boring, in fact, I love being Tznius, (modest). It’s sort of like a big chunk of my life. And you can also look simply awesome in Tznius (modest) clothing. I thought Michla looked adorable as a girly girl, it fits her so well. We had a blast taking these photos and wanted to stay longer, but it was getting mosquito-y and buggy and dark, so we went in. After I showed her the pictures, she had a good laugh. Again.
FOTW: If not for Tznius, (modesty) you wouldn’t be able to accomplish the 613 Mitzvot (commandments given by G-d).

If you think 70 degree weather is hot, you clearly have not been to Florida recently!!! I think, including in the winter, this year, we only had about 2 or 3 days when it was lower than 70 degrees, and maybe about 7 days where it was about 70 degrees. But recently it has been in the high 80 to mid 90s!!! I wish I could go to where you live!!!
These pictures are soooo cute! :) My siblings would NEVER let me do something like this. It works out well for you that you like to take pictures and your siblings like being in pictures! :)
It’s been cold until recently in DC. The past few days have been GORGEOUS!! Thankfully schools over soon so I can spend more time outside. :)

Love the photos! You should try living in Texas! In the summers its about 120 degrees!
Ok, so i can’t beat 120 degrees but the last past days its been around 90 to 95 degrees in los Angeles Ca.
@Hannahbee Wow! That’s all I have to say!! How can anyone stand living in 120 degree weather? I thought Florida was hot, but now I’m not complaining!
@sivan It’s been that temperature in Florida for the past month or so, but yesterday it was actually a nice 70 degrees!! Which I’m so happy about!!!
@saritscher, sometimes it gets hotter. I think the highest ever was like 130 or sumthing like that, it might have been lower but it sure felt like 130!
@Hannahbee OMG!! I seriously could never live in that weather? Do you stay there the whole summer? If I were you, I’d get out of there and move to a place that is SERIOUSLY cooler!
@saritscher, lol! Yes, we stay here all summer. We can’t afford to leave just because its hot. :)
But we are trying to sell our house so that we can convert Judaism! We are thinking of moving to Tennessee, and its WAY cooler there! I like to say that it has no summer, because the highest it has ever gotten there was like 102 degrees lol! I am SO exited to convert! It will take a couple of years especially if we are going to move somewhere out of Texas, but it will be TOTALLY worth the wait! I have been reading lots of books, reading articles from websites (like Chabad and Aish ect.), and also listening to podcasts by different Rabbis. And of course I have been reading Yaldah! Yaldah has been such a blessing for me! I have been reading Yaldah since we decided that we were not living life correctly (we were christians), and wanted to get closer to Hashem. Yaldah has really helped me through this time of waiting and feeling unstable (because all I had ever known was taken away and I would have to basically start life over again), and has definitely made me feel closer to Hashem. :)
@Hannahbee Wow!! That must be a pain at some points, but in the summer you probably think that 90 degrees is like fall!!! Lol!! That’s so great that you are thinking about converting! That’s a very big decision that you’re making, and you sound very happy to be making that decision! Anyways, at least you are moving to some place in kind of the middle of the country (did I get that fact right?), so it probably won’t be so hot.
@saritscher, Yes you did. :) Oh sorry, my mom just informed me that It can FEEL like 120 degrees but really the highest its gotten in like forever was 112. But in 1939 the highest ever recorded was 120. Sorry I misspoke. :/ In the fall it gets to about 70s and low/high 80s. @ least thats what I remember. :)
I ment 60s not 80s, sorry…again. But in the beginning of fall its usually low/high 80s.

@Hannahbee Oh, but 112 is still extremely hot for me! For me, most of the fall is usually in the 70s or 80s.
In the fall here there are even days were it feels like summer (usually in the beginning of fall though). Texas is weird, here we often get hail storms when the sun is still out! Its crazy!! And even days were its raining hard the sun is out! Thats not all the time though just about 2-3 times. But its still pretty weird! ;)
@Hannahbee I forgot to mention this, but it only mostly gets to be in like the 70s and 80s in really late fall. In the beginning of the fall it’s basically summer, except for some reason, when I’m walking to shul (synagogue), I sometimes see a tree that’s losing all of it’s leaves, even when the weather is like in the 90s! But Hashem made everything in this world happen for a reason, so there must be a reason for why that tree does that, but I just don’t know that reason.
@Hannahbee & @saritscher– Wow! Sounds like fun :) That’s crazy weather! Hannah, kol hakavod as they say, (all the honor, basically saying good for you!) It’s so amazing that you made the choice to become Jewish. All the best! (btw, I also love that band :)
@Hannahbee I agree with @Chaya. In case I haven’t said this already, I truly honor the fact that you must be making a ton of effort to become Jewish! I wish you all the best in everything that you do, and I’m sure that one day, (I know that this might sound really deep) you’ll get a reward from Hashem because of this choice that you’re making to become Jewish.
@Chaya I know right! We have some crazy weather, but after a while you get used to it. I also agree with what you said to @Hannahbee. About the part of becoming Jewish, not about the band, although I now like that band too.
@saritscher in AZ for about 2 months its in high 90s to low 100s!!!
@Sara Weisman Where I live it doesn’t stay in the low 100s for 2 months straight, the temperature kind of switches day by day. But I’ve heard that most parts of Arizona are dry and hot year round. Is that true?
