Tonight is Shabbos, don’t you know,
I can’t wait to feel its glow.

All dressed in my best,
I go to greet the Shabbos Queen with zest.

I light the candles that let us know
That Shabbos day has a special glow.

Shabbos is here, my favourite day,
After a week of work and play.

How could people not light candles?
How could they say no?
When Shabbos has a special glow.

So enjoy the beauty of the holy day,
Because after that it will go away.

But don’t worry, it will come back you know,
So we can all enjoy again its special glow.
