…the cooking blog !  after many crazy weeks of finals, tests and graduations I finally have a chance to sit and update my favorite cooking blog!

I know I will never want to admit it but without school work keeping me busy I have to find some thing else to occupy myself, until camp starts. so as you are probably guessing it right  now, I’m spending most of my time in the kitchen preparing something to enjoy in the sun!

During pessach I posted a Kosher for Pessach ice cream recipe. However, I think everyone was to busy to look at the post that week. Further more Kosher for Pessach ice cream isn’t as good as regular ice cream, so this weeks post will be chocolate parve ice cream(this recipe is curtsy of the Spice and Spirit cookbook)!

First of all you should make sure that you have all the entitled ingredients and equipment before you start! This is a good habit to get into, because if you don’t have a specific ingredient or peice of equipment you won’t have to stop your baking in the  middle to go to the store or borrow it from a neighbor, you will know at the beginning of your baking!

Make sure you have 2 medium mixing bowls, a beater, a spoon, and measuring cups and spoons.

Ingredients!
  • 7 eggs seperated
  • 3/4 a cup of sugar
  • 1/2 a cup of oil
  • 4 tablespoons of cocoa
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of instant coffee
Directions!
  1. In one of the bowls beat egg whites until they are stiff.
  2. In the other bowl, combine egg yolks, sugar, oil, cocoa, and coffee. beat them all together until it is thick and creamy.
  3. Fold the whites into yolk mixture and stir thwm together well.
  4. Spoon it into containers and freeze until firm.
If you dont want chocolate ice cream then you can substitute the cocoa for 1 package of frozen strawberries. bananas or other fruits may be substituted, as well!

I hope you enjoy any flavor of yummy ice cream you choose and have a cool relaxing summer!
