Happy Chanukah, everyone!
The festival of lights is upon us, nearly over, but not quite. And what better way to commemorate this beautiful holiday, filled with meaning and a happiness, than to share some beautiful music with ya’ll.
This is Chanukah, Oy Chanukah (arranged by Lee Evans, performed by Riva Taksir):
“(Oh), Hanukah, Oh Hanukah
Come light the menorah
Let’s have a party
We’ll all dance the horah
Gather ’round the table, we’ll give you a treat
Dreidels (or Sevivon) to play with, and latkes to eat
And while we are playing
The candles are burning bright (or low)
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of years long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of years long ago.”
Ill provide a wikipedia page that has the Yidish lyrics as well right…here (new tab will open).
