Hello, Readers! I’m sorry it has been so long since I last posted. Life has gotten in the way, and I have been to busy to post. I know that I’m still going to be too busy to post, especially once the school year starts, so I have decided to officially stop posting. But here is a last post for you full of useful links, and maybe some tips.
First of all, here is a picture of one day’s harvest this summer:
(We got a LOT of stuff from the garden this summer!)
Garden Goings-on:
The barn is finally finished! We are now looking for some milk goats to keep in it. But first, we’re going to have a barn party.
Our garlic is all grown up and tastes great. Other things we’ve been eating: potatoes, peas, zucchini, zucchini, and zucchini.
The chickens are gigantic! Sadly, it turns out that Annie was a rooster, so his name is now Ari and we are going to give him away to some people who want him to be a father to their baby chicks. But the rest of them are nice big healthy hens. No eggs yet, though.
Handy Links:
Here is a link to a list of all of my posts.
Our favorite zucchini recipe- cobbler which tastes like apple cobbler!
Mother Earth News has some good gardening articles, so check out their website!
So, goodbye, readers, and grow your gardens!
you wanted only hens?
@Moussia-W: Yes, we only wanted hens, since roosters tend to be mean (our rooster is too!), and they also can fertilize eggs, which makes them gross if you don’t collect them fast enough. But if we had wanted to get eggs to hatch chicks from, we would have wanted a rooster.
Thanks for the comment! :)
how big were your zucchinis?
@Sara-W: The biggest one was maybe 1 1/2 or 2 feet long, but it was too overripe to eat. The average was maybe 1 foot.
@Hannah one year we grew zucchinis in our backyard. we got one that was 19 inches long.
