Have you ever wondered what do with scraps from your projects? Are store bought cards too expensive? Well here is something fun and easy that you can make.
What you need: Two scraps of fabric (any thing bigger than three inches by four inches is fine). One should be plain.
Cut the scraps into the same size rectangles (at least 3 inches by four inches)
What would you like the card to look like? Applique or draw on the front to create the front of the card. You can also use fabric paint. You can also use a fabric with a lot of pattern. I used a fabric with sailboats.
On the plain piece paint or embroider your message (you can also use sharpie).
Wait for all paint to dry. Pin and sew right sides together use 1/4 inch seam to 5/8 inch seam. Pivot at the corners and leave a space open to turn it right side out. Turn it right side out and sew up the opening.
Such a cute and original idea! I am going to try and make them! :)
sounds gr8!
That is such a great idea! It is definitely a card that’ll last forever, and unlike regular cards, it can be washed! :D
I also make doll clothes w/ my fabric scraps. :)
Thanks Rochelchasya and Mushkie
Shoshana, thanks. I make doll clothes with my scraps too! :-)
Would you like to see an awesome doll pattern? I’ve made a bunch of these with my siblings:
