What have I been doing recently? Baking cupcakes. I baked a total of ninety-four of them last week for an event. So it makes sense that cupcakes had made their way into my subconscious in the last few days…. ;)

Cute! @shoshana c
Haa! I was just baking cupcakes 120 to be exact for my Bas Mitzvah this Sunday. And then you post a comic on it! B”H nobody ate mine up!
btw! @shoshana
I love this comic!! It’s really cute!!!
@Mussia – LOL, no kidding! I did 98 mini cupcakes (plus quality-control test subjects) for an upcoming simcha. You must have way more patience than I do. :D Any tips on how to frost them? They’re sitting in the freezer frosting-less right now until I come up with some good ideas…. :P
And coincidentally, Fortunee’s posted a yummy-looking recipe for peanut butter cupcakes, too!
@Shoshana C, I LOVE cake decorating and baking so I know a thing or 2 about icing cupcakes. Do u want to know how to frost cupcakes in general or like techniques to make it look really cool???
What kinds of cupcakes are u making? Just curious. :)
I just follow the recipe. Sometimes I use a spatula to make it smooth and then pipe frosting to make designs. For my bas mitzvah I did crowns and I had to experiment. So my colors are champagne and silver, but their is no food coloring of that color so I used food spray which is awesome I can send you a pic of how they came out! BTW- I’m not a professional!
Also what kind of simcha is it? I have 4 books on cute designs for cupcakes, cakes, cakepops, and pies. I’ll send u pics after u tell me what simcha it is.
@Hannahbee and @Mussia – Thank you for your tips! I’m making chocolate and vanilla mini cupcakes for a bride and groom. I’d love some tips on how to pipe on some flowery designs, if you can think of some. :) I’m thinking of doing some colored roses using homemade buttercream with chocolate frosting as a base coat for the cupcake, but I have very little technique. :P
Mussia, those colors sounds beautiful – I’d love to see how your cupcakes came out!
very cute i like it
@Shoshana C. I took a cake decorating class for about a year so I have this book that tells u how to make flowers ect. What kinds of flowers were u wanting to make? R u going to b using gum past, fondant, or icing for them? I will try to take a photo of the pages on my book so u can understand it better than me just telling u. :)
Have u looked up how to make some flowers on the internet? The roses on my book aren’t the best roses they are supposed to b 4 beginners so I suggest that u look up some rose techniques. :) I found this site maybe it can give u some ideas! http://www.cupcakes-plain-and-fancy.com/wedding-cupcakes.html
I tried to upload a photo of the roses from my book but couldn’t find how. Which is ok bc they were not very goopd in the first place. Hope the link helps!!!
@Hannahbee – Cool! I plan on using just icing, since it’s the easiest for me to get my hands on. :) Thanks for trying – I’ll check out this link. :)
@Hannahbee – I’m looking at the simple rose and this looks quite doable. Mussia (@musaka) also sent me some great pics for ideas and I think I’m going to try incorporating ideas from all of these options. Thanks so much, you guys!
@Shoshana C. Sure! hope it works out well for you!
I’ve flipped through this book. Some of the stuff in here is awesome!!

Some of the coolest designs for cupcakes and cakes. It doesn’t tell us how to do it though… When I decorated cupcakes with a friend once, we iced the cupcake, then rolled the edges in sprinkles. And we also used marzipan. Thats a almond paste that you can add coloring to and create edible “Clay”
