Entertaining, classic, and sometimes creepy, Grimm’s Fairy Tales is a collection of short stories written by the Brothers Grimm. This collection was created to preserve Germanic Folklore. You may be familiar with some of these fairy tales thanks to Disney’s children’s books and films. However, these stories were not originally intended for the entertainment of children. Originally, they were meant for adults. The original stories are reminiscent of horror stories/movies, except not as creepy.
Some stories involve the main character(s) fighting a witch, wolf, and/or encountering other conflicts throughout the plot. Each story has a moral and is entertaining. Some stories are longer than others, yet they are all intriguing. The English used to communicate the story is easy to comprehend when compared to other stories written during the same time period.
I would not recommend this book to younger readers or those who feel frightened by scary/horror stories/movies. However, if you enjoy interesting stories that have a scary twist, you’ll love this book.
My favorite stories are the Juniper Tree, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, and many more.
